From 1896 he specialised in Dickens characters, dramatic monologues and famous actors including Henry Irving, David Garrick and Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree.

Died: September 1961 still performing.
Music Hall debut: 1896 at The London Shoreditch. He later performed on the variety stage, wireless, films and television.
In pantomime was a famous Abanazar and Demon King.
Toured U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand and South Africa many times.
The recording of “The Green Eye of the Little Yellow God” was written by J. Milton Hayes (1884 - 1940) who wrote and performed many such monologues.
